BlueMatrix Rebuilds its Signature Authoring Platform

Company Announcements

BlueMatrix, the leading investment research software provider, announced plans to transform the authoring experience with a revamped version of its signature Creator application, Creator 4.0. The authoring platform is being rebuilt from the ground up with a simplified central workflow and redesigned user interface to define “The Future of Authoring.” Attendees at the 2015 Research Roundtable conference in New York City on October 2, 2015 gained a first-hand look at the application’s features and interface.

BlueMatrix is constantly evolving its products to better meet – and exceed – the needs of the market. The decision to upgrade and rebuild the product was in direct response to requests from clients to expand on the tools and features currently available in Creator, said Skye Hauptman, CEO and Co-Founder. “The days of a static, single-authored PDF-only document are numbered, and the market needs a truly collaborative, component-ready solution that is not tied to the desktop.”

BlueMatrix Senior Project Managers Steve McNally and Jeremie Bourque demonstrated a prototype of the application during an exclusive session for Roundtable attendees, outlining the key capabilities and features of Creator 4.0, which all focus on a streamlined collaborative experience.

Some of the key features include drag and drop images and components; easier sharing and collaboration; improved workflow; real-time PDF preview and HTML5 output; an updated Excel Tool that allows real-time chart syncing; and potentially the most game-changing, according to McNally, inline financials editing.

“Users will be able to update financial information directly in the content – or report – view, compared to the current version that requires the user to switch to different screen (the Financials tab),” says McNally, who has played a key role in the development of the prototype.

“The main goal of the product is to offer a streamlined user experience. We want users to complete as much as possible on the same page to so they can produce content faster,” he adds.

The platform will be presented again at the London Roundtable in December. BlueMatrix clients and attendees from both events are welcome to provide feedback about the authoring application, which will eventually replace the current version of Creator.
